  • Larissa German is getting married in a month. She comes from a family of five girls, so she's been through a few weddings before.

When it comes to her big day, she knows what she wants to spend money on.

German says, "The most money I'm spending is probably going to be on the reception and the big party."

Susan Southerland has been planning weddings for 20 years. She is now the National Wedding Expert for Perfect Wedding Guide.

Southerland says, "Flowers and decor certainly make the biggest impact. When you walk into a room and see everything beautifully made up, it's magical!"

Southerland reminds us, you don't have to spend a fortune to get that. Milk glass, which was popular in the 1950's is a great way to decorate. You can get these vases at thrift stores.

Mason jars also work as vases, and look beautiful with rich, fall colors.

And green & purple, still a popular color choice.

German plans on making her own centerpieces, and using rich, fall colors.

German says, "We've been collecting pine cones the last few weeks and plan on incorporating those into our centerpieces."

According to theweddingreport.com, the average cost of a wedding in Omaha in 2010 was $20,553.
