Fact Finders: Flooded Bellevue Apartments Angers Tenants

BELLEVUE Tenants at a Bellevue apartment complex are upset after last week's storms left their apartments damaged. Tenants told WOWT 6 News Fact Finders that leaks are becoming far too common.

"It was pouring in this area just like it was pouring outside," said Colette Hammond.

Hammond sent personal videos of last week's storms that show water rushing into her home. According to her, it's the third time leaks have sprung in her apartment since mid-May.

"I usually keep the door closed because when I stay in here too long my nose starts to run, my throat will burn and I get a really bad headache," said Hammond.

Another tenant said she's concerned about mold that is growing. She pays $450/month to live in the apartment. She said she'd move, but she can't afford to live somewhere else.

WOWT 6 News contact the landlord to get answers about what they're doing to remedy the situation. The Bellevue building official has given them until Monday to clean up the area and make permanent repairs. The landlord didn't return messages left by Fact Finders.
