The FBI is disputing a computer hacker's claim of swiping data. And millions of people who own iPads, iPhones and other Apple devices are hoping the law enforcement agency is right.
AntiSec claims it stole personal identification data on millions of Apple device owners from an FBI agent's laptop. But the law enforcement agency says the bureau never asked for and never had the database the group has posted on a Web site.
The site claims to show a database of more than 1 million unique ID numbers for Apple devices - and the site claims that's just a fraction of what they were able to glean from an FBI agent's laptop.
So far, Apple has not responded to repeated requests for comment.
