The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is confirming that they have a suspect in custody wanted for numerous exposure incidents in the southwest Omaha area.
Michael Chase of Omaha, 24, was booked on three counts of felony child abuse after he was stopped today around 4:40 P.M while driving near 169th & V St. Sheriff’s deputies patrolling in both marked and unmarked vehicles saturated southwest Douglas County looking for the suspect. Detectives developed a list of potential suspect vehicles from witness descriptions and partial plate information along with a description of the suspect. Chase’s vehicle was observed driving in the area and was stopped after he failed to properly signal a turn.
After the traffic stop, he voluntarily agreed to speak with detectives about the recent cases of exposure in southwest Douglas County. During his interview, Chase admitted to exposing himself to the reported victims and several others. The victims in the three cases reported this week are all female, ages 12-13.

The suspect photo is not being released at this time pending follow up investigation. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking media outlets to not publish any photos of the suspect as it may taint the investigative process. When the investigation is complete, a booking photo will be released.
Investigators say they were able to identify a suspect vehicle based on witness reports. It is believed that the suspect lives in the same area where the exposure incidents happened. That's also where deputies spotted the suspect vehicle earlier this evening.
The suspect was taken into custody just before 7 p.m. and was being interviewed as of 8 p.m.. He is believed to be in his 20's.
