The end of the school year doesn’t put a stop to learning. The Alegent Creighton Health Career Exploration Camp took place Thursday morning at Bergan Mercy.
Thirty-two students, grades 10 through 12 got hands-on experience with CPR techniques, working with realistic simulators.
Others got an up-close look at pregnancy care and birth.
All of this comes with the goal of showing the variety of careers working in health care.
Creighton Prep’s Nitin Sekar said, “I've mostly taken away that I've only looked at the main big medical fields, like surgeons and doctors and oncologists and urologists. But now I know the people, the nurses and the surgical techs that work behind the scenes, people that you wouldn't think about normally when you are thinking about the medical field."
The camp wraps-up on Friday.
