Council Bluffs police have arrested and charged a man with kidnapping after an incident near Edison Elementary school Monday afternoon.
Channel Six was there as 19-year-old Nathan Busse was brought out of the school in handcuffs.
Police say a 10-year-old child was finishing her duty as a crossing guard when Busse grabbed her and forced her to walk with him for several feet in the area of South 23rd Street and 3rd Avenue in Council Bluffs. The girl broke free after a brief struggle and ran to a family member who was waiting to pick her up.
The victim’s father found Busse a short distance away and detained him until police arrived.
Busse has been charged with kidnapping, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, enticing a minor, and child stealing.
