A former Ralston elementary school teacher is going to prison for sexually assaulting three of his students; however, with credit for time served and good time he could be out in seven years.
Wednesday afternoon, Judge Retelsdorf sentenced Nicholas Richter to 14 to 15 years in prison, with credit for 137 days already served.
Richter, who taught at Seymour Elementary, was convicted on three counts in December after his first trial ended in a hung jury last August. Prosecutors said he inappropriately touched students over their clothing.
