For the first time in Omaha, comedians will have an entire week dedicated to showcasing their talent and getting the metro laughing out loud.
Omaha Comedy Week was a coordinated effort by some Omaha comedians. The hope is to boost awareness, attendance and participation in the city's growing comedy scene.
The week long celebration of laughter will start with an alternative sketch comedy show on Monday at The Waiting Room in Benson. Other nights will feature standup, video comedy, sketch & improv at various locations in the city.
Mayor Jim Suttle issued a proclamation, in person, Monday night for Omaha Comedy Week at The Waiting Room.
One of the comedian then asked him if there was anything he could do about the hot weather.
There is also an online video showcase submission contest.
More information can be found on the Omaha Comedy Week Web site.
