A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Pawnee and Richardson counties in southeast Nebraska until 3 p.m. Thursday.
Rain soaked the metro Wednesday night, flooding streets in Bellevue.
Police temporarily blocked off some streets as rain flooded low-lying areas.
One of the affected areas was Harvell Drive and Birchcrest Road. Neighbors tell WOWT 6 News some cars were stranded.
Bellevue Police took to Facebook, posting this warning on their official page:
"Bellevue is experiencing some flooding in low lying streets. Please do not drive through flood water on the roadway! Use caution as you travel in the City tonight!"
By 9 p.m. the water had dissipated dramatically.
