Horsing around for a good reason. Local media gets to saddle up to learn about equestrian riding. The International as its called is coming to Omaha April 12th & 13th. More than 100 horse and rider teams will converge on the Century Link Center for jumping competition. Each will have to clear more than a dozen jumps at different heights in 80 seconds.
There will also be a free fan expo with seven breed of horses and background on the sport. The "International" competition has not been held in the US for several years.
Channel Six Meteorologist Jill Gilardi was one of several local media types who got a chance to ride horses using equestrian gear. That includes saddles with no horns so it was an exciting, though controlled ride at Quail Run Equestrian center near Elkhorn.
