Discover Engineering Days, an event designed to engage middle school students in new approaches to problem-solving, will be presented by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering from Nov. 12-14.
UNL engineering students and faculty will lead interactive sessions to get young students excited about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in programs at the Nebraska Union, 14th and R streets, on Nov. 12 and 14, and at the Nebraska East Union, Arbor and Center drives on East Campus, on Nov. 13. Activities will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
At Discover Engineering Days, middle school students will participate in problem mechanical, electrical and biological engineering techniques that could help solve the world's problems and provide lucrative careers.
Activities include "breaking bones," making "frothy foam" and more.
