An employee theft case investigated by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department has resulted in a felony charge. A warrant was issued late in 2013 for 35-year-old Anthony L. Paasch of Weeping Water.
The Cassgram reports the warrant was for theft by unlawful taking, over $500 and less than $1500, a Class IV Felony.
The investigation began when the owner of the Express Lane convenience store contacted the sheriff’s department about a possible employee theft.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, Paasch is accused of taking $690.36 in cash.
Paasch was arrested last week and is out of jail on $5000 bond. The preliminary hearing is January 16th.
