An American Airlines flight was diverted to Eppley Airfield due to a medical emergency landing Monday night.
Just before 8:30 p.m. an alert went out. The flight was heading to San Francisco from Chicago when a passenger on board had a medical emergency.
Crews were on standby because the plane was overweight for the landing due to fuel. The plane hadn’t burned off enough fuel yet.
The plane did land safely and the passenger was transported to the hospital.
The flight took off from Omaha again around 10:30 p.m. Monday and made it to San Francisco by 11:30 p.m. local time.
