Elevator Art Comes Down

Art can be a subjective thing. On Monday, some of it was subjected to forced retirement.

The public display of art that went up nearly four years ago just west of the Interstate 80 and Interstate 480 interchange is going away.

Crews went to work to remove 26 banner murals from the old grain elevators. The banners needed cleaning and the city says the project is just too expensive.

The banners were put up by the non-profit Emerging Train that no longer operates in Omaha.
