More than $1 million in grants will help establish programs at
various schools in Omaha, Crete, Nebraska City, Bellevue, La Vista
The state Department of Education says the programs will provide
extra help for students in reading, mathematics and other subjects.
Such programs also are intended to improve grades and reduce risky
behaviors among juveniles.
The department says seven programs at 14 other schools across
the state will continue to receive federal grants for 21st Century
Community Learning Center programs.
The centers are designed to improve student learning and promote positive behavior and family engagement.
