EPA Awards $30,000 For Nebraska Air-Quality Training

A Nebraska health care foundation has received nearly $30,000 to improve indoor air quality and prevent asthma attacks.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced it was awarding the grant to the Saint Elizabeth Foundation in Lincoln. The foundation is receiving the grant to train school nurses about asthma. The foundation will also host workshops on asthma for public health agencies, hospitals and providers.

Foundation officials also plan to work with organizations that help the elderly. The groups will conduct in-home assessments to identify things that might trigger an asthma attack.
