Lincoln police say a 21st birthday party went too far for one guest over the weekend. A 40-foot limousine bus was hired Friday night for someone celebrating the monumental birthday. Among the guests was 30-year-old Steven Hunter who, according to police, drank too much and passed out in the bathroom of the limousine.
The limousine bus was parked for the night at Leisure Limousine Service about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The owner discovered the $80,000 vehicle missing from the lot at 9 a.m. The keys had been left in the console. The limo bus was located at 13th and F Street about noon Saturday. It had damage to the bathroom door, which had been kicked out. The exterior of the bus had damage too; scratches on the passenger side and a missing hubcap.
Police found a pair of jeans with a wallet in the rear pocket inside the bathroom. Identification found in the wallet had Hunter’s name.
Police say it appears when he woke up, he found himself locked inside the bus. Hunter was arrested Saturday night for criminal mischief and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
