Drug dealers get federal prison time.
On September 19, 2011,Charles Anthony Boone, age 25, formerly
of Davenport, was sentenced to 87 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to charges of distribution and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base.
Co-defendant Candace Marie Horton, age 40, of Davenport, was sentenced to 34 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to distribution of cocaine base.
United States District Judge James E. Gritzner also sentenced Boone to four years and Horton to two years of supervised release following imprisonment.
Boone admitted that from August 16, 2010, to September 16 , 2010, he distributed cocaine base on five separate occasions. Boone also admitted to possessing 90 grams of cocaine base at a Davenport residence with the intent to distribute it to others. Horton admitted to
distributing cocaine base on August 24, 2010.
This case was investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Davenport Police Department, and was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Iowa.
