Damon O’Neil, of Chicago, Illinois was sentenced to life imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute cocaine in Iowa.
On January 6, 2012, a jury convicted O’Neil of violating Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 846, for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine from May 2010 through January 23, 2011.
In the summer of 2010, police received information that the defendant was involved in the distribution of crack cocaine in Davenport. The defendant had recently relocated to Davenport from Chicago.
O’Neil transported hundreds of grams of crack cocaine from Chicago
to Davenport, and then used various individuals, including his niece, to redistribute the drugs for him. O’Neil also relied on his wife to pick up crack cocaine in Chicago.
During the course of the conspiracy O’Neil distributed over 280 grams of crack cocaine.
