Burglars broke into the drive-thru windows at two Omaha drugstores Thursday morning, but they weren't looking for cash.
Surveillance video shows that a little after 1 a.m., two men using a sledge hammer broke through the drive-thru window of the Walgreens at 108th and Fort streets. Once they crawled inside they went to work and they worked quickly because an intrusion alarm had already alerted police.
At the Walgreens at 90th and Fort a few hours later, store video shows the same two suspects already inside grabbing bottles of pills and stuffing them in a duffel bag. They were not just after any prescription drugs, but Hydrocodone, a powerful prescription pain reliever with significant street value.
The burglars were only inside each store for just a few minutes, crawling back out the same broken window and leaving the scene before police arrived.
Anyone with information about the burglaries or suspects is asked to call police at 402-444-7867. There is a reward of up to $3,500 for a tip that leads to an arrest.
