It’s time for spring cleaning and that also means time to clean out your medicine cabinet.

Several sights were set up Saturday in Omaha so people could get rid of their expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs safely.

At Westroads Mall, 22 bags of prescription drugs totaling 649 pounds were collected.

The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department held its annual medicine drop in the parking lot of the Hy-Vee at Shadow Lake Towne Center in Papillion, collecting 14 boxes of unused/expired prescription medications and two boxes of sharps/needles weighing a total of more than 251 pounds.
