The U.S. seasonal drought outlook through November was released on August 15 and shows drought removal likely across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa.
The latest drought monitor for Nebraska and Iowa, still shows a large area experiencing moderate drought. The latest data does not include the beneficial rains that feel the night of the 14 into the 15.
Drought conditions have not changed from August 6 to August 13. It's hard to say if recent rainfall will be enough to improve the drought situation from moderate to abnormally dry.
