A driver who spent the night in his crashed pickup was rescued Sunday morning and as of Tuesday, remained in critical condition at an area hospital.
Sixty-three-year-old Richard Cain apparently lost control of his truck and went off the road and down an embankment near North 132nd Street and Highway 36. A farmer noticed damage to a guard rail around 6 p.m. Saturday, but didn't see the wreck below.
The farmer returned to the scene just before 11 a.m. Sunday and this time saw the vehicle in the ravine. He got a blanket for Cain and called 911.
