An Omaha man is rushed to the hospital after being cut from the wreckage after a high-speed crash.
Omaha police say 22-year-old Giovanni Davey was driving a white Cadillac DeVille northbound at a high rate of speed on Marshall Drive. He lost control, the car struck a large decorative rock and mailbox, then went across the street and crashed into a tree.
Omaha Fire and Rescue crews cut Davey from the wreck. He was rushed to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition with a fractured back and ribs, and bruised lung and liver. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigators say Davey was ticketed for Reckless Driving, DUI and Possession of Marijuana Less Than an Ounce.
