An Ohiowa, Nebraska man was killed when his truck was hit by a Union Pacific freight train at a crossing in Belvidere in southeast Nebraska early Sunday morning.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. The town is about 45 miles south of York and off of U.S. Highway 81. Authorities say 24-year-old Bryant Mussman tried to cross the tracks at the closed crossing.
Mussman was not wearing a seat belt. He was engaged to be married and is also survived by a son, two brothers and his parents.
