Omaha police have identified the man who died in a late Sunday crash on Interstate-80.
According to investigators, 37-year-old Oscar Miranda-Jurado was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash just before 8 p.m.
Witnesses said a silver, 1999 Saab was southbound on I-480, from Martha Street. The vehicle appeared to be taking I-80 westbound, but made a sudden lane change to take JFK southbound.
According to police, the driver lost control and slammed into the guardrail underneath the Vinton Street Bridge. The investigation revealed the driver was travel ling in excess of 91 mph; however, it is unclear whether alcohol was involved.
Miranda-Jurado was the only person in the vehicle. An autopsy will be performed Monday.
