Driver Hits Construction Worker, Flees

Part of I-680 in Omaha was closed for a time Sunday morning after a driver crashed into a construction zone and injured a worker.

Police said the driver of a Chevy Trailblazer drove through some construction barricades and into a construction zone north of Dodge Street just before 2 a.m.

Workers were using a "sprayer" on the back of a large pickup. A worker outside the truck managed to jump out of the way before the SUV slammed into it, but another worker was in the cab and was shaken up and taken to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries

The driver of the SUV took off into the TD Ameritrade office complex nearby. There was no word if the driver was caught.
