One of three motorists injured in an accident Friday night was later booked on two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injury, reckless driving and not having a driver’s license.
Police say a minivan was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of South 13th Street when it collided head-on with a car at U Street around 9:15 p.m.
The driver of the minivan, 18-year-old Juan Aguilar-Bautista of Omaha, and the two people in the car were hospitalized. After being treated for a broken ankle, he was taken to the Douglas County Corrections Center.
The driver of the car, 73-year-old Luther Herall, and his passenger, 66-year-old Sharon Herall, both of Bellevue, suffered abdominal injuries. Sharon's injuries were considered to be life threatening.
