Douglas County deputies are still going through the mounds of stolen items found after arresting Andrew Gapinski, 22, and Steven Murdock, 25.
The pair is accused of stealing from between 70 to 100 people throughout Omaha.
Mike Potthoff is one of those victims. He said the crooks took a check right out of the mail.
"We figured it was a one time incident, just an occurrence that just happens," said Potthoff.
But stolen checks are only part of what these two are accused of taking.
The items these two seemed to target most were mail, items found in the glove box, like vehicle registration and titles, and finally keys, lot and lots of keys.
These type of crimes beg the question, were these two working on a larger scheme or maybe a theft ring?
"It was nothing with any organization or anything like that, I think they were out just committing random thefts, obviously in mass, because we have dozen of potential victims here," said Captain Steve Glandt,
Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Potthoff said he's happy these two have been arrested. But to be on the safe side, he has made some changes around his house.
"Since then we have kept our exterior lights on a little more, in case the neighbors would see anything, and the security system has been turned on so it's been good," said Potthoff.
