An inmate at the Douglas County Department of Corrections was found unresponsive in her cell and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Thirty-four-year-old Amanda Solko was being held on $50,000 bond, charged with driving during a license revocation. A search of court records by WOWT 6 News, reveals Solko was arrested on October 1 and refused to take a breathalyzer. Previous records show she last spent time in jail in 2010 for a third offense DUI.

Jail officials reported finding Solko unresponsive in her single-cell room just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Officials called 911 and Solko was immediately taken to Alegent Health-Creighton University Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

As prescribed by law, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department is investigating and a grand jury will be called to determine whether any wrongdoing occurred. No other details about Solko, including her medical history, have been released.
