Stranger enters home and, makes himself at home. The Cassgram reports he told Cass County sheriff’s deputies he had just bought the house and its contents complete with the food a few hours earlier. That was not the case.
It happened in Union on Thursday afternoon. Law enforcement was notified by a neighbor that someone had entered the house and she was pretty sure he did not have permission to be there.
Deputies responded and determined the 51-year-old man was not the owner as he claimed. The owner responded and said he did not know the man. The intruder was arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked into the Cass County Jail. A sheriff’s department spokesman said the suspect was later placed into emergency protective custody in an Omaha facility where he is undergoing evaluation.
