One Heartland elementary school is going to the dogs, in a way. The students at Hickory Hill in Papillion are helping to support rescued dogs.
The students are donating blankets, towels and dog toys to help rescued dogs understand they are loved.
Donations are being collected over a two week period. This Friday they will be delivered.
Madelyn Carlson originally wanted to help the k-9 half of rescue teams.
Madelyn Carson says, "Dogs that rescue people but I looked around and couldn't find much information on them so I decided to help rescued dogs."
Madelyn took on the challenge as part of a class project.
