Donations Needed! Benefits Benson Community Garden

The Benson Community Garden is currently accepting donated, usable items for their annual fundraiser yard sale, scheduled for June 28 & 29.

· Clothing (no undergarments, please)

· Household goods

· Collectibles

· Books

· Toys

· Small furniture

· Decorations

· Lawn & Garden items

· Etc.

“This is a great opportunity for people to clear out their basements and garages, by donating unwanted usable items to support the Benson Community Garden,” explained Kurt Goetzinger.

The funds raised from the yard sale will offset expenses associated with operating the garden and land.

Unsold articles will be donated to the Open Door Mission.

Donations are accepted from sunrise to sunset at the garden, 1302 North 60th Street and can be left under the tent in the center of the garden.

(Because of the limited storage space, large bulky items such as sofas, appliances, etc. cannot be accepted.)

Monetary donations can be made online through the garden’s website

The Benson Community Garden began in 2011 and offers space for 36 families and individuals to grow farm-fresh vegetables.

In 2012 they planted a 400+ square foot “Neighbor Garden” where neighbors can harvest vine-fresh produce at no charge.
