Domestic Violence Leads To Jail

Domestic violence leads to jail time. Cass County District Court Judge Jeffrey Funke agreed with the sentence the prosecution and defense jointly recommended for a 27-year-old Omaha man who pled guilty to a Class I Misdemeanor assault charge. Cory S. Roffman had accepted the plea agreement a few weeks ago in which a felony charge of strangulation was amended to the misdemeanor.

The Cassgram reports the victim was his girlfriend. The assault occurred in October at a residence at Beaver Lake. Sheriff’s deputies responded and observed a bruise on the woman’s neck and a cut on her shoulder.

Another part of the agreement involves Roffman pleading guilty to DUI, 2nd offense in county court.
