Omaha police were called to investigate a domestic dispute, but ended up discovering a small marijuana grow operation.
According to officers at the scene, a man and woman got into a fight at 47th Avenue and Izard around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. Two dogs were inside the home and, according to police, acting aggressive. The Nebraska Humane Society was able to take both dogs in without incident.
Police said a man inside the home refused to come out and a K9 officer was sent inside. The K9 officer bit the man, who police say, was trying to hide from the dog behind a bed post. The man was taken to the hospital to be treated for a minor bite. The woman was taken in for questioning.
Once the home was cleared, officers found a small amount of marijuana plants.
As soon as he is released from the hospital, the man will likely face charges, including domestic violence and resisting arrest. His name has not yet been released.
