A two-year-old child required medical attention after a traffic accident linked to an alleged domestic violence incident.
It all came to the attention of police when a car crashed into the front porch of a home near 30th and Binney Monday evening. The child was in the back seat of the car.
Investigators say 21-year-old Robert Dalton and his girlfriend, 19-year-old Ashley Terry, who was driving, got into an argument. At some point, Dalton punched Terry, causing her to lose control and crash into the porch.
Police said the child, Brooklyn Smith, was not properly restrained; she flew lose of the adult seat belt and hit her head on the interior of the car. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for a cut.
Dalton was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence assault.
