Omaha Police and paramedics were called to the Nebraska Humane Society Thursday night. Officers tell WOWT 6 News a dog bit a worker.

It happened around 6:15 p.m.

An on-scene officer said a pitbull slipped away from a worker. When the worker tried to get the dog under his control, the dog bit him.

Douglas County Dispatch says paramedics took the victim to a hospital in serious condition.

The Humane Society was not able to comment on the case Thursday, as they completed their own investigation.

They expect to release new information Friday.
