They were some of the smallest patients health care professionals will ever deal with. Sunday afternoon was a chance for doctors and nurses to see the progress of children they first saw when they were only minutes old.
An opportunity to reel in the big one and face painting were on the agenda at Omaha’s Children's Hospital and Medical Center. Parents in attendance were happy to reunite with those who helped give their children a sense of normalcy during difficult times.
“It's a very great place to be and they recognize families so much,” said Joni Gordon. “Like our kids were here a lot through Olivia growing up and they just welcome them. It just meant so much to us because they didn't get to watch their sister grow up at home so for them to be able to come here, it's just an amazing place."
More than 500 people were expected to attend the event.
