Do those electronic signs that post your speed actually slow down drivers?
We decided to check it out.
So we set up our camera out of sight to drivers here at 63rd and Blondo and monitored the electronic sign for about ten minutes.
Overall, we saw drivers dramatically slow down or hold their speed under the posted 30 miles an hour limit.
Studies by the National Highway Commission show that there is a lingering effect on drivers as well.
After being monitored by one of these signs, the vast majority continue to driver slower than before for several minutes.
