A man has been injured in South Bend Lake. Cass County Sheriff's deputies and Louisville Fire & Rescue responded to the area known as Beer Bottle Beach at 6:55 p.m. Saturday.
The Cassgram reports a young man had dove off a small dock and was injured.
Upon a deputy’s arrival, the man, identified as Andrew J. Benne, age 25 of Omaha, was being attended to by EMS personnel who were on location when the accident happened, said Sheriff William C. Brueggemann.
Benne was transported to Creighton University Medical Center by LifeNet helicopter. Benne was conscious and talking to rescue personnel at the time of transport.
Some witnesses at the scene advised they did not know if Benne fell or jumped from the dock into the water. One witness said Benne was running and fell off the dock.
There was no patient condition report available from the hospital Monday morning.
