Disbarred Omaha Lawyer Gets 30 days In Jail, Too

A 43-year-old Omaha man who had been disbarred for practicing law without a license has been given jail time, too.

The Nebraska Supreme Court had disbarred David Walocha for working as a lawyer for nearly a decade.

Court records show Walocha was admitted to the bar on Sept. 22, 1994. On June 21, 1996, he was suspended for failing to pay his bar dues.

From 1998 and through 2011, Walocha provided legal advice, charged his clients fees and represented himself to be a licensed attorney when he was not.

Online court records say he also was charged with two misdemeanor criminal counts for unauthorized practice of law.

Walocha pleaded guilty last week and was given 30 days in jail.
