Southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri until 4 a.m. Sunday. This includes Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
Local “first responders” and the Omaha Airport Authority need the public’s help to conduct a disaster exercise on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Specifically, they are looking for additional citizen volunteers to play the role of crash victims and their family members.
The volunteers will play a key part in the preparedness of our community, and they’ll get a chance to see rescue personnel practice the skills and procedures needed to respond to a full-scale disaster.
Organizers say the drill is critical to keep the skills of our emergency workers and Medical Reserve Corps sharp, and to help local agencies work efficiently together in a time of crisis.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided and liquids will be available all day. Restrooms will be readily available.
All volunteers must be 19 years of age or older.
