The championship of this year’s College World Series pits Virginia against Vanderbilt and Carl Carnes will be there. Count on that.
As the gates opened Monday, we caught up with a remarkable fan who says he hasn’t missed a pitch since 1995.
Carl is determined not to miss a College World Series game no matter if his team is in it or not.
This year couldn't be better for the Virginia native. He's happily cheering-on the Cavaliers. A Virginia team has never made it to the championship game before.
Carl’s family is here with him this year. They say even after health complications they just can't keep their dad away.
Daughter Susan Dudek said, “He was scheduled to have surgery this past month and they delayed it. They delayed it to the 10th. And so he said, ‘nope skip it.’
He says the folks at TD Ameritrade Park even went out of their way to make sure he could get seats next to his family.
Carl plans on coming back next year.
