A Johnson County Sheriff's Department deputy was injured when he lost control of his patrol car and slid into an oncoming truck Friday afternoon.
Deputy Andrew Schroeder was driving eastbound on Highway 41 in Sterling, Nebraska, about 40 miles southeast of Lincoln, around noon in response to a call to assist another deputy when he lost control of his vehicle. Schroeder crashed into the truck and had to be extricated from the car.
Schroeder was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital in Lincoln where he was in fair condition.
