A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until midnight for much of eastern Nebraska, including Omaha. A tornado watch has been issued for Cass, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline and Seward counties until 10 p.m. Sunday.
The annual Defenders of Freedom Offutt Air Force Base Air Show and Open House is this weekend in Bellevue.
The event scheduled for Saturday and Sunday features military and aerobatic airplane performances as well as the Army's Golden Knights parachute team.
With rain in the forecast, officials will decide early Saturday whether the planes will fly. Gates are open both days from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and admission is free. Coolers, backpacks and pets are not allowed.
