An 82-year-old woman has entered a plea in connection with a deadly accident two months ago.
Wednesday, Ruth Jeffers pleaded guilty to misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide.
Sentencing is set for August 7th. Jeffers faces up to one year in jail or up to two years of probation.
Investigators say Jeffers didn't see a car stopped in front of her. She swerved across a traffic lane to avoid the car and struck a bicyclist.
56-year-old Jim Johnston died at a hospital.
Johnston had worked as a teacher in the Millard School District for 32 years. He retired last year, but still worked at Millard West as a physical therapist/athletic trainer with Alegent Creighton Health.
