The National Weather Service continues the heat advisory through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures once again on Tuesday will rise to the upper 90s however high humidity will make it feel like 105 to 110 degrees.
Omaha police disclosed Wednesday that Jacob Dickmeyer was the driver of a car that went out of control and rolled several times Monday morning, killing Dickmeyer and injuring his passenger.
The 18-year-old Dickmeyer, of Valley, was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle around 1:30 a.m. at 208th Street and West Dodge Road. His passenger, 19-year-old Colby Burke of Valley was also not wearing a seat belt. He suffered a broken pelvis and a head injury and is expected to recover.
Police say alcohol and speed were factors in the crash. Witnesses said that prior to the crash, the car had been weaving in and out of traffic.
