Dangerous Robber Sought

Council Bluffs police are looking for a dangerous robber on a crime spree. The word has gone out to businesses to keep their guard up.

Police say the suspect is described as man in 20s. He’s been seen in surveillance pictures wearing a long sleeve black shirt and black cargo pants with black gloves. He carries a red duffle bag and wears panty hose over his face. Police say he has a long barreled hand gun.

The crime spree started at Eddy’s gas station at 611 East Broadway, early Sunday morning. Over three hours the robber hit three other businesses in the Bluffs before crossing the river.

Council Bluffs Police Sgt. Dave Dawson said, “He’s hit four locations and got cash from two. We believe from there he went over into Omaha, we think this is the same suspect, and hit the downtown Hilton and the Carter lake La Quinta Inn over there.”

Police are warning that the robber is armed and they believe he is dangerous.

Sgt. Dawson said, “Every place he’s been he's displayed a gun. Any business should be on the lookout. Don’t try to be a hero. Try to do whatever he asks, that’s the safest thing."

Investigators believe this man could also be responsible for other robberies in the metro area.

If you have any information about him, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers. In Council Bluffs that number is 328-STOP. In Omaha, it’s 402 444-STOP. You can also use the link on our Crime Stoppers page.
