An Omaha man faces a felony after letting a neighbor know he didn't like the text message that man sent to his daughter.
Police were called to a home just north of 160th and Center around 10:30 p.m. July 16th.
Robert Hamling told officers he had gone over to his neighbor's home to confront him about a text message sent to his 27-year-old daughter. The message requested a sex act.
A police report says Hamling told officers the neighbor threw a punch "but may not have fully landed the punch and knocked out his already loose crowns on his front teeth."
Hamling told officers he then slugged the neighbor and the two wrestled on the ground. Eventually they broke apart.
Hamling says that's when he pulled out a gun, chambered a round and said, "You know I'm armed." The neighbor went indoors.
Officers interviewed the neighbor who told them the text message was a joke. He also said Hamling punched him first.
Police arrested Hamling for Terroristic Threats. He has bonded out of jail. If convicted, he could face up to five years behind bars.
