A Minnesota Dairy Queen employee earned a trip to Omaha this weekend to meet Warren Buffett. Buffett heard about Joey Prusak’s good deed and wanted to meet him.
Prusak works at the DQ in Hopkins, Minnesota. One day last September, a blind customer dropped a $20 bill while paying for his food. When Prusak saw the woman behind him pick it up and put the money in her pocket, he called her out.
When she refused to give it back, Prusak asked her to leave the store and then gave the blind man $20 of his own money.
On Friday, Prusak stopped to talk to special education at Millard South High School in Omaha. Students there had written him a letter calling him “The King of Kindness.” During his visit he told WOWT 6 News, “It’s something you never would expect someone to do. I mean, the situation was difficult to watch because the guy was blind, he was visually impaired. She goes and basically pockets the money. I had no real words at the time when it happened.”
Buffett has invited Prusak for lunch Saturday. He accepted the invitation.
